I'd say it depends on who's available there, but I think the pick value is pretty even

I kinda like that one, it would leave us with 41, 42, 72, 73, 88. I wouldn't want to make 3 picks in a row, but just imo

I don't think value matters. Detroit doesn't need depth pieces; more likely to be able to get a "big swing guy" at 17 than 27+31.
One of Wood, Perrault, or Honzek are very likely to end up at 17.

We need higher end prospects not mid tier prospects. Obviously more kicks at the can is nice but I would rather take players with the higher potential.

I mean sure if we want to be cheering on the lottery again next season. Celebrini or Eiserman would look great in the wheel.

Then they reach on someone like the Seider pick and everyone is like "why didn't they trade back?". I think there's a high probability of a reach on at least 1 of the 3 consecutive picks.

I wouldn't mind another year of no playoffs, there are some good pieces they could move at the TDL and setup for next year's UFA class.

I don’t think COL is going to be picking at both of those spots, I also think there is little to no chance COL has been doing what they will to move up in the draft

Its almost like we should have done that with this draft

Or the Wings take Tom Willander at pick 9

That’s fair. I just have my hopes on a few guys in those three spots (but who knows if they are gone or not).

I am in agreement 3 in a row seems like a recipe for mistakes.

I think this season will be ripe for picking up some solid players that are coming up on UFA. This is probably the last season of weaponizing cap too, so I think there's some good value to be mined out of one more losing season. Given they already traded a couple of pretty valuable assets and only got 2 picks for this year's draft, I wouldn't mind future picks, but I'd prefer if they use some of this roster to get some bigger fish on the trade market this season.

If only we would weaponize the cap. This team seems pretty set on not spending money to be bad no matter how many picks it would bring in. We should have been doing it the last 3 seasons.

I think they've done a pretty decent job staying liquid for the impending Ras, Burger, Raymond, Seider signings. I know what you're saying though, but I kind of wonder if certain teams avoid trying to help Detroit... Like the Minnesota deals... Why didn't we do that?

Habs got a 1st round pick for taking Monahan's contract, why didn't we do that🙁. That 1st would have been a good trade piece in the future.
