  1. Rutta, Jan

Additional Details:
Thoughts here is Duclair is coming off an injury and with Ekblad and Montour explected to miss big chunks of the season + the dmen on the way out in FLA, Rutta provides cheap fill in to eat minutes. Can be flipped again at the deadline or kept.

Panthers dont do that nor want Rutta. You’d get maybe a 6th for him and that’s about it

You want Petry? I mean at the end of the day the panthers really need D, if they're willing to move Duclair then something can be worked out i'd bet.

Rutta for Duclair is a 1-for-1 or throw in a 7th. He's still a question mark with only 30 games on an Achilles tear
Still don't like Korpisalo. Too many bad years to offset 1 good year. He reverted to his baseline in the playoffs. We should be able to do better

I don't understand why people talk about total contract value, i get it, but Granlund is 5/yr for two more years. Ducks aren't going to be competitive this year, and maybe maybe next year. They're under the floor right now. Other teams have taken far less so far this year to eat cap.

Sharangovich can’t walk. He’ll just go to arbitration worst case scenario.

Rutta for Duclair is not 1-1 in my eyes, that's not accurate.

Goalie options aren't plenty and Helle/Ullmark/Saros are all going to command a 1st which it doesn't sound like Dubas will spend.

No. Dont need any of your d man. We’ll just sign an ufa who’s better. Duclair will get more than rutta who isn’t very good

Rutta wouldn't be the worst thing for the Panthers.

They can't afford Dumba, can't afford Klingberg.

From a medical standpoint, Duclair has lost value after the Achilles tear (yes, I'm a doctor). If he had played a full season on it, then he is worth way more than Rutta. Injury history and the need to clear cap make him much less valuable

I think you're over valuing Duclair and under valuing Rutta. I'm not saying it's 1-1 at all. Duclair is streaky and coming off an injury. The Panthers can't afford to make big FA signings on the D side because Ekblad and Montour will be back in the season so cap comes into play.

We dont want them anyways. We need actually defenseman not offensive dman. Plus we have 12 mil in cap with 3 players
Needed.

I’m not overvaluing duclair I’m good with trading him but not for a bad dman we dont want. We can just sign a ufa who’s the same type of player and keep duclair

Wouldn't offer Carter, i'm well aware he's here to stay.

I don't think Graves ends up in Florida, He's going to eat up half the cap space florida has at this point, and I understand 11M moves to LTIR with Ekblad and Montour but they're not going to be in a Stone situation of sitting out all season, so Graves will be tough IMO.

Also if i'm florida i'm spending that cap space on secondary scoring.

Yeah but like I said. One good d man like graves for 5 mil plus gudas at 3 leaves the rest for a 4th line center. And some extra. Okay ltir. Eklblad probably doesn’t okay all year. He’s frail

Yeah Toffoli probably should have gone for more but there is a difference between a 31yr old winger obviously coming off a career year and a steady 26 year old top pairing d-man so I think the return for Hanifin will be alot better

Under the cap? People don’t pay attention huh?

We still have to resign all our RFA’s and a few UFA’s as well. When we are done with that, we will be at or over 70 million but nice try with the whole having to get to the floor thing

Current projected cap space is $10.2M per this website, Ekblad/Montour add $11M from LTIR, I doubt either miss the full season and Florida has said already they anticipate half the year.

That depends, are the ducks going to move any of their larger contracts as fans seem to say on here? (Gibson, Henrique, Silfverberg) cause that's another $17.5M off and probably = Terry and Zegs

Cause if they do you're back to needing cap lol
