Wait so the savings from the buyout somehow gets you Ehlers too?

oh gosh. OEL as 2LW? thats bad.

Jets would rather buyout Wheeler than give away Ehlers to save some cap space. Skjei isnt a match for them.

that 3rd line would be one of the slowest in the league. JVR, KK and Wheeler on the same line. NJ on other teams would be in the O zone before those forwards get past the center line.

wasting all those assets on Lindholm who we wouldt pay Horvat money for is bad business.

And an extended Skjei who scored 18 goals last year. Someone extending in WPG should be worth something, right?

You can do a lot with $10+ million in cap space

Didn't Ehlers score the same number of points in half the games?

Not bad for Lindholm, but I'd probably insist on your 2024 1st or the PHI 2nd. The problem including Drury in proposals is I can't see Conroy and Iggy considering him because they witnessed his uncle whine his way out of Calgary 20 years ago because he didn't like the city

Guess that’s one way of doing business. The other way would be to give him a chance to succeed…winning is the best deodorant

Yeah I get your point, but from the perspective of the franchise that's currently having it's 4th high profile American refuse to sign an extension in the last 5 years it makes more sense

I like the Lindholm deal if he comes with an affordable extension. Here is my thought on a Lindholm trade. Not far off in total:

- 2023 1st, 2nd
- Teuvo
- Drury or D prospect not named Morrow or Nikishin

I would be okay without an extension in place or even an agreement. I think Teuvo bounces back next year no matter who he is with.

Not sure what an affordable extension is - but if you look at Larkin and Horvat deals, you’d be looking at something like 10.4-10.5% of the cap, so youre looking at something like 8.8-9.2 AAV range.

Would it be terrible to have Aho and Lindholm sign similar extensions, and run long term center depth Aho/Lindholm/KK?

Nope. It would not.
