Wheeler’s(😢) $4,125,000 retained + $4,000,000(+?) 2024-25 cap raise would add $8,125,000+ Cap space after the year.
With Ehlers and Connor as the main priorities and not needing significant raises yet, the Jet’s are in a very good position. Also with amazing up and coming prospects on ELC’s too.

I’d set up a Future Projection, but it should seem pretty clear… Thanks to Chevy’s and Management’s good work on PLD’s situation :)

Detroit is not in position to sell futures for nows. If these nows were also the future, then maybe, but they're all 30+ y/o.

Detroit declines. Rebuilding non-playoff teams don't usually trade a bunch of futures for a few 30yr olds. With both Scheifele and Wheeler having reputations of being locker room cancers the only player in this trade Yzerman considers bringing to Detroit is Hellebuyck.

Hellebuyck wants a cup now. So that leaves Detroit out. Zero interest in Blake Wheeler. Wouldn't mind Mark Scheifele as our 2C as long as the cost is reasonable and he's willing to sign a reasonable extension with us.
