OK per scott powers CHI is buying out Bailey, which makes zero sense. Plenty of cap space, why not get him off the books in one year?

Because buyout is at 2/3 of contract value spread over double the yrs remaining . If not he would take up a spot for absolutely nothing . Hawks should do same with Zaitsev . This year and next will be burnt yrs anyways . Hawks are 2 yrs from playoffs .Bedard is a huge add but can not drag this team into playoffs on his on . All the other prospects have to get seasoning and hope they improve . Guys like Bailey will just hold back icetime from the younger guys coming up .
