Seen several posts involving Laine to Edmonton. Why would the Jackets do that with the direction they've clearly signaled they want to take the team in this year?

AHhahahaha
You are trading Hyman who scored 36 goals for Laine who scored 22 goals plus giving a first and Mcleod who scored 11 goals and is a center?
47 goals for 22. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm

Not to mention that offer includes nothing of value to CBJ. If Laine is going to be dealt, it’s going to be in a package for a top center or a top pick.

Maybe because we're now the Columbus Wolverines and Hyman went to Michigan?

Hyman is old and benefits hugely from playing with two of the best players in the world. Laine has had trouble staying healthy but has been around a 40g pace his whole career with clear potential to go higher.

Laine averaged .4 goals per game on the 30th best offensive team in the league. Hyman and Mcleod averaged .35 goals per game on the #1 offensive team in the league. Quit being a homer.

Yes thanks for that, thats another issue. Laine is often injured.
Another minus.

Hyman was .4555 goals per game.
yes laine was .40 goals again.

Hyman played 79 games
Laine barely hits 50 gp in the last 3 years.

I would NEVER make this trade.
Andddd Laine cost 3 million more.
