I like Turbo but him and a second are not enough to retain almost 3M for 4 years. You would have to either include Blake, Nikishin, Lucius or Nadeau or else swap that second for your first next year.

Jackson Blake would be only one i’m willing to move out of that list of prospects.

Columbus accepts. Nicely thought through for that one.

I do like him. But yeah you are asking for alot of retention. Also taking on the Turbo contract, which he isn't a bad player but it's coming off a down year. I like his other intangibles though. But yeah 8.25M in cap will cost quite a bit, not to mention the 2.85M for the three years after. I'm not saying Turbo is any sorry of negative value, I'm just saying it's alot of cap to take on for a second round pick.

Honestly though I don't see why Canes do this. I thought him and Burns didn't work well on a team since they are both "the guy".

Detroit declines. Like Turbo, but that's a lot of contract to eat.

Wings pass, not enough to take that retention on

Eh, I’d prefer the 4th be moved up to a 2nd or 3rd. Suzuki is a non-factor as a prospect, and Rosy, for as inconsistent as he is, is still productive.

Plus, god knows playing for CAR, and it being a contract year, he’s gonna go score 30 goals or something 🙄

It's a total of $11.5M in cap hit. Maybe an RHD prospect instead of Teräväinen

Maybe Pesce (and no 2nd), and SJS takes a prospect instead (which they'd probably be more interested in)

I like both of these ideas. Even with Turbo.

I mean, I’m fine with bumping up the pick on account of retention. But Suzuki is waivers exempt and that would clear up a spot for a player who might actually have a future with the CBJ

I get it. And with the cap environment, might not be in the position to get too picky. I wouldn’t be upset with this trade, more curious/hopeful there is a bit more value to get out of it.
