I don’t think we should. We get an extra year of term with Dvorak, who’s a mediocre 3C. Would much rather keep Beauvillier’s expiring contract

price is an irrelevant piece in that deal and Gallagher probably needs to be added for cap reason but it feels pretty light after that aside from the flames getting back their first that is looking like it could be a high pick.

Thats why you get a 3rd and 5th with it. The value between that and the 4th should cover the 2nd year

I just don’t think it’s worth it for the Canucks. I’d rather keep the cap space for next offseason. We can get a better 3C than Dvorak for the amount he’s making

Price is relevant, he is owed a boatload of money and that has value for the owners. getting rid of that isnt cheap. Gallagher is worth less than nothing while Huberdeau should rebound being away from Sutter hockey

Your offer for Huberdeau has no value appart from the 1st round pick.

More like CGY 1st, Anderson and a good prospect like Roy, mesar or Mailloux.

Canucks and Flames both pass. It's going to cost more than that just to dump Gallagher's contract.

With the cap raising, i dont think it would suck as much. And he doesnt really have injury issues so he shouldnt regress that badly.

Do you know how good that 1st rounder would be. Thats a top 10 pick. And kidney + struble are both decent C+ to b- propsects

so your saying you're adding price (whose contract is insured) to add more value for mtl?

could be a top 5 pick its still going to take more than two prospects that arent even in the habs top 10 prospects to land a player one year removed from setting the all time record for LW Assists. I'd be fully down for the habs to pursure him but the offer would have to be substantially better.

How many of them will become an "elite foward" scoring 100+ pts?

Stop lowballing. B/C prospects are worth next to nothing.

Quantity doesn't get you quality.

You want him? pay the price.

Huberdeau contract is more of a dump than gally's

Gally has 0 signing bonus so its a very easy buyout or even a LTIR candidate compared to huberdeau whos all signing bonus and wont ever be on LTIR. Hes buyout proof.

Its only insured a certain amount and i dont think the singing bonuses are at all so yes its good for the habs to get rid of it

1st rule of trading

You never get the value of a player in a single asset. If Huberdeau is traded, they arent getting an elite forward. 55 points at 10.5m would normally be negative value but he should rebound away from Calgary.

oh huberdeau discounted is atleast a 1st mesar kidney and harris level package if you want to dump gallaghers contract. Kidney could manage 100 nhl games spread over a few seasons and no one would be shocked. If huberdeau had put up a 90-100 point season last year it would be starting with two first, mesar, roy and beck top of package.

First rule of trading - make an offer that no one in their right mind would accept and watch the player you wanted go to another team....

he had 55 points and is paid 10.5m. What happenedin the past doesnt matter as much as the most recent season. If not, i could say Gallagher is a 30 goal scorer or Price is a hart winner and thats their values

Huberdeau can still play hockey. How would Gallagher be a LTIR candidate without a career ending injury?

He could probably go on it now. I dont think hes been 100% healthy since 2015. Both his hands are messed up plus a bunch of upper body injuries. Lots of players have gone through wear and tear. Like Price is technically on it because he doesnt want to do rehab and general wear and tear

He will be 37 at the end of his contract. At $10.5m. That says it all.

oh its not good at all but getting a player of his quality for cheap (asset wise) would be worth it. Especially when i dont think Caufield stays after his contract
