Some team might take Murray for free half retained but it won't be the Hawks.

Last I checked it cost a 2nd rounder to dump $3.5M for Bailey. I don't understand why people think dumping ironically ~$3.5M of Murray would be any different. IF TOR retained $2M...it'll still cost a 2nd

Edit...technically Bailey was bought out so less than $3.5M

You gain 4.5 million dollars in cap space on a guy you're eventually probably going to buy out. Frankly, Leafs aren't taking him for free at 4.5

Canucks are not buying out Garland lol. Why would they? They already bought out OEL. Canucks will gladly keep Garland. Don't pretend like you're doing the Canucks any favours. When TERRIBLE players like Klinngberg are being paid 4 mil in free agency, it is best the Canucks keep their current players than go and overpay for worse ones
