Bruins extend Scheifele 6x8.5
Hope Elias Lindholm hits the market next year and sign him 7x8.5
Bruins would be set up for the next 5-7 years. Poitras and others in the wings if the Bruins can move Coyle out next year or after his contract expires. Obviously would suck to lose Swayman but sometimes you have to give to get. You don't find 40+ Centre goal scorers everyday.

An unproven goalie a bust and a plug don't get a 40G 1C. Greatly overvaluing Swayman.

You can't afford giving them 17 million a year unless the other 10 players you'd need to sign are league minimum guys

Jets probably want different complimentary pieces along with sway. Goalies don’t hold the same value a 40+ goal scorer does.

Cap going way up. Forbort and Grzelcyk off the books. Easier to move Coyle out next year if required. Bruins are in great shape cap wise next season.

Not if you hand out 17 million to 2 players.

Assuming a cap of 87.5 million, Boston has 30.8 million in cap space with 10 players signed. With your scheifele and lindholm contracts you'd have 13.8 million with 11 spots to fill, many prominent spots

You'd still be bargin bin shopping replacing big holes in your lineup

That number will.be smaller by the way if swayman signs a multi year deal

Lets see Scheifele pot 40+ goals more than once before we start calling him a 40G centerman. Pastrnak potted 60 goals this year, but I wouldn't call him 60 goal winger. Scheifele is a ****ing plague that is part of the problem in WPG. Last season he was on the ice for 37% of WPG 5v5 GA. He's not what Boston needs.

Based on what? WPG has a toxic locker room and he's been one of the leaders of that locker room for 7yrs. He's below average in the dot and puts little effort in when playing defense.

I think most GMs would be wary of overvaluing Swayman. He looks the real deal so far but we've often seen goalies come apart after a couple of good years, never to really find that form again, and he was behind a pretty dominant team. That said, this is a pretty good return for Winnipeg for Schiefele imo. I'd pass if I were the Bruins based on Schiefele's rep however.

For the same reasons ON3M4N explained, I'm not high on Scheifele either. I wouldn't do Swayman for Scheif straight up.
