Preds wont include Saros in a Nylander deal - doesn’t make sense team direction-wise. Even if we did, we wouldn’t be adding near this much

The first trade isnt bad if it was Nylander with an Extension and Sammy for Forsberg and Saros. Maybe even a third and Nick Robertson for Novak. The 2nd trade is absolutly garbage. We loose 1 great d prospect plus timmins who is another good prospect and the 1st and 2nd for 1 year of Pesce?

Here’s my take I would add saros in a nylander deal if samsonov is coming back. If they took Evangelista out I might do this deal. Nylander would make our forward group ALOT better and samsonov is nothing like saros but is a solid goalie until askarov is ready.

This is terrible for Nashville. Nashville is giving up a top 4 goalie for a mid range goalie and a slight upgrade in forsberg. Terrible

Nylander is a slight upgrade on forsberg and they are paying a top goalie for that. This makes no sense for Nashville. They are not even adding to their forward group making this trade so how do they get better. Toronto on the other hand gets a goalie that steals games and would give them the edge in a playoff series

you have one of the best goalie prospects in the nhl in askarov and a great goalie in sammy. idk how you would be bad in the goalie department

I wouldn’t even call Nylander an upgrade. Forsberg is only about 2 years older, and has historically had better production than Nylander. Word is that Nylander wants 10m, which makes him even less appealing compared to Forsberg

Samsonov is nowhere near being in the great goalie category. A traffic come would’ve been better in the playoffs.

Saros almost single-handed it made the Preds a tough out in the last playoff series he played. Samsonov held the Leafs back in the playoffs if anything.

I’d say a great goalie is one that performs in all situations, and Sammy has not done that. No denying it tbh

I would put samsonov as a solid goalie but not great. He won’t steal you games like saros. So just because we have askarov we should just give saros and oh yea add forsberg. Nylander has better numbers but if I’m being honest if forsberg was on the leafs playing with matthews marner and your other top forwards he might put up better numbers than nylander. Take out forsberg and add a 1st and fabbro and I’d do it.

It's funny you think this is even close to enough for Pesce. Niemala is meh, Timmins is a cap dump whose got a LONG list of injury issues, he's got 0 value at best. A 1st 2 years away and a late 2nd ain't it

Brodie has similar defensive metrics to Pesce (maybe better) - imagine the hub bub if a leaf fan turned down a haul like this for him?
