Confident, Wahlstrom is a young top 6 forward. Koepke is a C level prospect and a 3rd is well just a 3rd

Wahlstrom is far from a young top 6 foward. He himself is a B- prospect if you can still call him a prospect. Sure maybe it’s a better prospect like goncalves going the other way but I think your over hyping your boy just a little💀

B- prospect? He has over 150 NHL games under his belt and would have had more had he not gone on LTIR at the end of December. That's not a prospect, that's a full time NHLer. He also played almost strictly with Barzal on the first line. He is a similar level player to Hagel right now and 2 years younger too.

Also I'm not an Islanders fan, I'm literally a Tampa fan

He is no where near hagel at all. This guy is a pure shooter. Brings nothing that hagel does I know your not comparing players but rather the spot they play in the lineup however besides whalstroms shot there is not much else to get excited about. Tampa lost a lot of depth scoring by losing perry whether it be on the 2nd power play or when he played net front. Adding a whalstrom allows the bottom 6 to add a bit of scoring thag we haven’t seen since goodrow, Coleman and yank left. I think this package is more than fair looking at whalstroms stats and the fact he was a literal healthy scratch for a good number of games

Wahlstrom is a NHLer with upside, Koepke is a career AHLer. Wahsltrom was not a healthy scratch last year he was hurt at the end of December. Isles decline without even considering the proposal for a moment.

Healthy scratch? When? Not this year.

As for his game he is a big physical fast winger with a solid defensive game. He would be an excellent fit in Tampa, and would slide seamlessly onto Cirelli's line. But your offer is nowhere close, simple as that

Another Tampa fan here. Isles definitely decline. That's a weak return for Wahlstrom.

“This was the first time in nine games that Wahlstrom has been sat by coach Barry Trotz but not the first time it has happened this season”. By last season I meant 2022 not 2023.

Who cares if a 21 year old was a healthy scratch 2 seasons ago while learning the game if he was a regular at 22 last season and playing well before injury.

It was quite literally 17 months ago under one of the best coaches in the NHL while the isles were in the midst of their playoff run. Whalstrom is not what you guys imagined him being drafting him at 11

Just curious what do you think a NHL player that has put up 61 points in 161 games With horrible injury history gets you in return

It’s called learning the game, not every player even a 1st round pick automatically is a star in the NHL. Wahlstrom has steadily improved every year and again was playing very well before his injury. Your trade does not interest the Isles.

If we up it to a 2nd It should help kickstart the rebuild

What rebuild? The Isles who just invested in their franchise goalie, and a few other players? The Isles don’t want to trade Wahsltrom, and even if they were going into a rebuild you trade your older players not someone who is only 23.

Only a joke but I’m not sure after those contracts lou handed out. Whalstrom isn’t as valuable as you think. And if I’m being honest him and zadina have very similar stats👀. And look at what’s happening there

Not so sure about that. Without playing in the isles defensive miner system I think whalstrom is near Identical to zadina.

More than that. Would much rather hold onto him for $1m and see if he can pop in 20g rather than rushing Dufour

Then go sign zadina. Seems like you are criticizing everything about Wahlstrom but still want him on your team.

Not criticizing him just trying to point out he isn’t as valuable as you may think. Kinda why he is on the 4th line in my projected lineup
