Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Im pretty sure with nylander on PP1 and first line minutes he can hit 100 + points.
Keep in mind in toronto this guys been played line 2 or 3 with pp 2 unit who has no one. Can help carry nashville to the playoffs and hes the only person to actually solo effort the leafs in the playoffs.

I understand saros is an elite lvl goaltender. But goaltenders usually carry less value around the league. Especially since Vegas cup win goal tenders prices have dropped. Maybe picks are too much and can be cancelled out and given from TO.

Connor murphy has excellent defensive analytics. Big right handed D man on a good contract for 3 years. Pretty much replace Brodie next year. Robertson, Murray and picks should be enough to make the trade go through. Might sound dumb but Chicago can definitely flip murray at the deadline at 50% retained.

If leafs dont win with this team, might as well fold the franchise.

If Willy signs for 8.8, he will definitely be in TO. Goalies are never worth as much as people want them to be. Mainly because they are crapshoots.

Willy has been on PP2 at times, but mostly on PP1 under Keefe. He actually led the leafs in PP TOI and was second (by 3 seconds to Matthews) in PP TOI/GP last year with 3:35/ https://www.nhl.com/stats/skaters?report=timeonice&reportType=season&seasonFrom=20222023&seasonTo=20222023&gameType=2&playerPlayedFor=franchise.5&filter=gamesPlayed,gte,1&sort=ppTimeOnIcePerGame&page=0&pageSize=50

He was also third in EV TOI/GP behind Matthews and Marner and ahead of Tavares at 14:44

Those numbers would have had him 2nd at EV TOI/GP and 1st in PP TOI/GP for a forward on Nashville. So I don't think you can argue he's been buried

Hawks decline. Either simplify the deal, murray and a 1st for a 3rd or swap Robertson and the 4th for another 1st or better prospect.

Nashville has no income tax, its obviously 8.8 because he makes around the same both ways if not more

TOI doesnt always reflect the truth. I mean david kampf would be torontos 2nd line centre.

Hmmmm... Well, first off, TOR doesn't actually own TBL's 1st round pick, yet. (I guess it doesn't matter, this is all for play anyway. If this happened, CHI would have had TOR's 1st round pick for three consecutive years!)

Anyway, assuming TOR gets its hands on the TBL 1st rounder, the Hawks aren't interested in Robertson... Perhaps substitute Niemela for Robertson (even though Niemela is relatively small for a defenseman), as the Hawks currently have a dearth of RHD in the pipeline, and it might work better.

Sure but your claim is

He's been getting first line minutes at ES with either Tavares or Matthews (they're more of a 1a and 1b then first or second). And he's getting plenty of pp time. He wouldn't have anywhere near those minutes if he was playing on the second unit. Your claim is false

Yeah, they do. Easily. Hawks value Murphy way more than whatever Robertson might be worth with his injury history. Murray takes most of the value of that 1st to dump. The 4th isn't that valuable. Not that any of this matters, because the Hawks aren't trading Murphy this season anyway. Leafs have the 2nd chance they wanted - just buy Murray out.

Theres no way murphy lines up with any window the hawks have. Hawks have expressed interest in taking murray. Its not like murray wont bring back a 3rd at the deadline at 50% retained. Why would a team in the gutter want to keep a 30 year old D man?

Why would he ask for less? He won't get max bonus money in Nashville but will in TO. Investing those huge payments and getting good returns outweighs the tax difference. This has been talked about in the past, how powerful a tool bonus money can be. TO has the money to do so, most other franchises don't.

Hawks have not expressed any interest in murray. Davidson even came out and said the literal opposite saying they're not in the market for a goalie.

The only interest the Hawks might have in Murray is to get their hands on another 1st round pick. And it's a pretty huge assumption that Murray is even healthy at the TDL to be traded with his history. His supposed value at the TDL doesn't factor into this trade at all.

The Hawks have a slew of young LD coming up through their system. Murphy is an ideal partner to mentor these guys as they transition to the NHL. Even rebuilding teams need veteran leaders in their room.
