Canes decline. Necas for Nylander is at best even value, Pesce and a 2nd is worth more than Lilly, a 1st and a 3rd

Now you are just trolling. Why on earth would TO be adding here? Only on capfriendly is the guy who scored the 22nd most goals and 23rd most points in the NHL over the past 3 years is worth less than a 30 point 2nd pair defenceman. What a joke

You compare points between a scoring winger and one of the best defensive D in the league and I'm trolling. You just going to ignore Necas, who is younger, cheaper and very productive offensively as well?

Hawks decline. If all it took to move Murray was a 3rd, he wouldn't still be a Leaf.

Necas is a good player but he's not elite. Nylander will forever be dumpstered by you guys. I can't wait until he resigns and this nonsense finally ends.

I just don’t see the Canes including Necas or Jarvis in any deals. Still ascending and relatively cheap. Given how tight the market has been their contracts represent exceptional value

Clearly I'm not "dumpstering" him with that kind of return. Necas is 24 and had 71 points in 82 games; when Nylander was 24 he had 59 points in 68 games... not all that different.

It's a downgrade upfront for an upgrade on the backend, while also opening up cap short term and long term.

No one wants to jump in and commit to 9-10m for anyone right now. It’s not that Nylander isn’t a great scorer, it’s that it’s not worth losing all your financial flexibility for him.

Especially with Aho extension looming. 40 goals isn’t what the canes need…they were good enough to win the division without that, they need some scoring in the playoffs. That can be addressed for much less than what Nylander wants.

Hell with Svech returning and Bunting, it may already have been addressed

Arguable even when when looking at it in a vacuum, but especially when you consider Brodie is 33 and on an expiring contract. He's also a blackhole offensively...

Zadorov is a long term solution and brings an element we lack.

They don't need goals, just scoring. Aho had one point against the Panthers, I think you guys could use another at upfront.

Not at $9-10m and giving up assets. There are cheaper alternatives

Fair enough, but Pesce isn't going to cost you much less.

I wish I lived in your world where 2-3m isn’t ‘much less’

But this is why Pesce will be traded and not for assets that cost as much or more than he’ll cost. That defeats the whole point.

I's say 1.5 max. Anyway, your team just got swept scoring 6 goals in 4 games but I guess you're probably fine.

Goal scoring is exactly what they need. Bunting isn't as good as you will be hoping he is.

Your math is off.

And I’m not sure you want to get into a war of words over playoff failures bruh

nylander at 9, Pesce at 7.5? Maybe more. And trust me, I'm fully aware, but we've both failed for different reasons. You guys are one of the best defensive teams in the league, we are one of the best forward groups in the league.

Canes won’t pay Pesce that much. And don’t want to pay Nylander that much.

And they won’t have to in order to improve.
