It doesn’t matter, all of it will likely go to SJ anyways

Do you guys just go after EK65 instead of Tarasenko?

That would be the entire point of moving Pesce. Otherwise, why would they move him?

Thought because TDA fits in top 4 for them and then they use space to sign scorer. Chatfield was great for you guys and plus Coghlan, I would assume right side is set

I'm planning of doing a AGM in a minute so what would the Leafs be willing to pay (besides Nylander because our GM prob wouldn't wanna give Nylander the contract he wants

Pesce isn't someone who's going to bring back Askarov.

An extended Aho is the only player on CAR it would make sense for NSH to trade Askarov for (obviously as part of a package).

Even Pesce for just picks seems unlikely, with the glut of defensemen NSH would be left with. Pesce as an upgrade for NSH's blueline, with a Fabbro or Carrier plus other pieces going the other way? Sure. NSH just adding Pesce to their blueline without subtracting anyone doesn't compute.

Askarov isn't an unreasonable ask for a player of Pesce's caliber... Pesce is a proven commodity and Askarov is not.
There quite a few players that Askarov would be reasonable return for

Pesce is very good, but one season of a #2 defenseman isn't going to return arguably the best prospect in the world at his position.

It's a goalie prospect... which is much more of a risk than skating prospects and Pesce has the analytics of a first-pairing defenseman there is just so much depth on the Hurricane's blue-line that he's a second-pairing guy

Yeah he's a #2 defenseman, that's a first pairing guy on most teams (NSH included). That's different from a #1, which he would not be on NSH (he wouldn't even be their #2, if they still had Ekholm, but I digress).

Unless it's for a true #1 center (ie Aho), or a prospect with that potential (the only reason NSH was rumoured to be dangling Askarov at the draft), they have no reason to move Asky.

a first and two seconds? We’d probably also let go of robertson instead of one of those seconds.

Pesce can play both sides, and neither Chatfield, Coghlan or DeAngelo are better than 3rd pairing D men. TDA played with Slavin last time because he needed a babysitter. He's not playing top 4 minutes. They won't move him unless they're sure of EK is my guess

That’s why I think they’ll be a 3 way trade between Nashville Carolina and San Jose. I think Nashville will retain on karlsson which makes the return on Pesce cheaper. I don’t really like the idea because Nashville already has a lot of dead cap. But that’s what I believe will happen

Ideally we would get both but that may not happen if Tank’s new agent pushes for more than the previous assumed signing number.
