Crazy to see pit fans think they can get Karlsson with a couple cap dumps and a late first and then to see this.

That's because Karlsson has a full NMC and can dictate where and IF a trade even happens.

And he won the Norris and had 100 points last year…taking back multiple cap dumps and moving Karlsson after that year with retention will cost a bit. He’s open to go anywhere to a team that’s contending or close to. Sharks have openly said multiple times they aren’t just moving him to move him, they are asking for great value in return

It was his first good season in the last half decade. He was one of the worst non-LTIR contracts in the league before that. We're all speculating on Karlsson and Grier's ACTUAL intentions are as both players and GMs lie all the time for obvious reasons. Dubas was only going to be in Toronto or not working...and then a week later he was in Pittsburgh. Dallas could have easily made this exact offer and Karlsson rejected waiving for them. We don't know. If the Burns trade is any indication, Grier should hold Karlsson for another year to see if he can replicate this season. Then he would have much better return value.

Faksa has 0 value to the Hawks. So if you wanna send a 2nd round pick for us to eat the 2 years of that contract, sure.
