Sabres do not want Brodie. Why would they help the leafs out of a cap crunch without some sort of prospect/pick coming back.

Sabres want to make the playoffs and this player helps them. So they're helping themselves.

Currently Buffalo has 5 LHD and 4 RHD, completing this trade would give them 6 LHD and 3 RHD.
Regardless, this would be good trade for Buffalo and they would be foolish to pass on it.

I don't see Nylander being a fit for the blues realistically. He is going to want to be paid on his next extension and don't think the blues will give him his 9 mil plus money he wants. Also the blues need to rework their defense and trading for Nylander takes cap space and assets away from that.

Who else is there to trade? I don’t want the Leafs giving up a 1st in a Murray trade. Brodie is the only candidate.
