So Colorado trades the guy they just signed to what people are mocking as potentially the worst deal of free agency and their extremely less proven #1 goalie for one of the few proven stud goalies in the game and a good 2nd line winger. Then you think Winnipeg adds picks?

Drop the picks on Winni's side. Add a first++ on Colorado's side

'This works for neither team for many reasons' would be a better name for the thread. Needless to say 10 mil vs 6 mil cap doesn't work for the Avs let alone the additional assets. It also isn't a return that likely interests the Jets.

Avs get the best of this trade by a lot but they (1) can't trade a guy they just signed to a long term deal and (2) can't afford the salaries of the players coming their way.

Kupari at 3.75???? 900K for 2 years is what will happen.
Vilardi will be 3.75 for 2 years and Barron 1.2 for 2 years

Avs are happy with Georgie (and they should be, with the term they have with him) and the woods bet is so inconsequential it doesn’t really matter. The return doesn’t do anything for Winnipeg. Save hellebuck and flip him for a first and prospect at the trade deadline, so much more valuable to the jets. They can pick up one of the many solid goalies that are always available next July.

Bad trade both directions.

Thanks for the laugh, needed that.

Love the hate COL got on the Wood signing, as if COLs GM track record would lead you to believe they don’t know what they are doing with that signing.

As for the worst signing, you kidding? Reaves, Holl, Korpisalo, Engvall, Jarry, Killorn and Compher were easily worse deals lol.

As for the trade, COL declines easily.

Why would COL want Hellebuyck for 1 yr x 6+ mil (and wanting a raise), when Georgiev gives them comparable goaltending numbers at half the cost and a few years of team control.

Nino is fine, but again, 1yr at 4 mil to play 3rd line in COL. I’d rather have the cost certainty of Wood (at a lesser production yes), but at least he’s getting paid 3rd line money to play 3rd line minutes.

Which saves COL the “first +++” you think is owed here lol XD
