Would rather a better 5v5 player and a guy that plays a 200ft game

    Maybe Konecny if you’re lucky

Joseph is fine but overpaid and he will cost to move. So essentially it’s Branny (3rd pairing dman with moderate upside), Jarventie (B- level prospect), and the worst of two firsts. Honestly the first is the only really enticing thing there, nearly every team has their own Brannstrom and Jarventie (that really hurts to say because I used to LOVE Brannstrom lol).

If you want a winger with term who will actually move the needle, I think it starts with the first, Grieg OR Ostapchuk OR Kleven, Brannstrom, and something else.

If Konecny doesn’t wanna extend next year we’d have to go thru the same thing as Debrincat

Someone will have to have bullish take on Brannstrom, I think.

He’s worth at least a 2nd. Posted very strong numbers for the 3rd pair on both ends. Should probably play as a #4 for a trial and see how he fairs

Except that this package is a LOT better than what the Sens received for ADB

    1) 2024 1st round pick (DET) [Conditional] vs 2024 1st round pick (OTT)

This depends on what happens but Sens will probably end up with a 20th OA pick in 2025, Sens pick could be like that but 1 year earlier

    2) Dominik Kubalik vs Mathieu Joseph

Kubalik is UFA-to-be, People are making a big deal with Joseph's contract but it will be a non-season as soon as 2024-25. Last 2 years, he has averaged 31 pts per 82 games on top of beign good defensively and having top metrics on the PK

    3) Brännström, Erik vs Donovan Sebrango

HUGE difference here. Brannstrom is a young rising 2-way D-man, Sebrango might just end up a good AHL D-man.

    4) 2024 4th round pick (DET) vs Roby Järventie

HUGE difference here. Jarventie was an early 2nd round pick and his stock has rose since. He did very well against men as a teenager, was excellent in the last WJC and is starting to become a huge threat in the AHL. The guy is still 20 as we speak

Even if Kubalik is more valuable than Joseph, Brannstrom + Jarventie is so much more than the 2 lesser pieces from Detroit that overall, this isn't even close

Reilly Smith got moved for a 3rd
Anthony Duclair got moved for a 5th and a 4th liner
Mike Hoffman could be had for free (but bridge is burnt for him in Ottawa)
    Last year
Connor Brown was had for a 2nd in 2024
    Oliver Bjorkstrand was had for a 3rd + 4th

With this package, you could actually get an impact player. This is COMFORTABLY more than what the Sens got for DeBrincat who came with a 4 years extension at a reasonable AAV

No, this is just non-knowledge of the pieces involved.

Show me who the Flyers has as their own Brannstrom. Emil Andrae possibly if he develops his defensive game in the NHL as well as Brannstrom did, which is quite rare from an undersized D-man

Also, depending what "B- level prospect" means to you, this might not describe Jarventie at all

Greig is not available and Dorion will not trade him, which is basically the only thing I can trust Dorion for

However, he did trade Gustavsson for Talbot lol (or Zibanejad for Brassard years ago) so we never know with that time-ticking bomb GM

Trading Tyler Kleven would also be a big mistake. Ostapchuk will be an excellent 3rd line forward but you can afford to trade him

    1st
    Brannstrom
    Sokolov OR Thomson
Joseph (salary going back, serviceable player while you rebuild)

That would be an excellent offer for Konecny, also more than what DeBrincat returned

If the Flyers can get better from someone else, then good for them. Move on to the next target
