No one is taking that Nurse contract, Oilers are stuck with it for another 7 years

Edmonton isn't trading Nurse any more than they would trade McDavid or Draisaitl. He's part of the inner core.

Briere said he was gonna honor Sanheim's NTC now that its there, but no way in hell would we take on the older, more expensive contract at the start of a rebuild unless you attached a load of picks and prospects with it. Sure, it ends sooner, but it is also 3 million more expensive. Besides, why would Nurse waive to join a rebuild? If he didn't want to stick in Edmonton he could've walked on his UFA year.

Nurse is underrated honestly had 41pts 5 on 5 imagine he played on the greatest powerplay of all time he would easily have 60-70pts

If you look at 5v5 points over the past 3 seasons, Nurse is 13th in the league among defensemen, tied with Brent Burns. Burns has played 11 more games though.

Darnell has got to be one of the most underrated defensemen in the league.
