I don't think Nashville does this deal. 3 million retained for 3 years and not enough value for that.

Please tell me why Winnipeg would trade the better defenceman in this deal? What does this do for Winnipeg?

Brodie doesn't waive and Winnipeg has no incentive to get older and worse.

As been said by many who are very wise: Leaf supporters are still in a "world of hurt" and struggle with the fact the Leafs aren't that good, with or without the Core!!!!

Um Brodie is the better Defensive Dman.....

This season, TJ Brodie finished with the second-best xGA per minute impact by RAPM of the analytics era

The Leafs controlled 57% of the expected goals with Brodie on the ice at 5v5

Would suggest fans do their homework before saying stuff as the older guys the better guy lul. Should see Gio's card it even puts Demelo to shame lul

These analytics comparisons on hockey players is ridiculous already. So many factors influence it, but you keep pulling them to try and make your point. If Brodie and Gio are better than Demelo, Leafs should keep them then. Winnipeg would much rather have the cheaper, younger player.

Thats the plan we can just get Demelo in FA and bring Brodie back cheaper as with how things are probs gonna go in WPG best to get out while you can

Haha. You are making it sound like Toronto is better than Winnipeg. Come on man, you guys just signed a 37 year old to a 3-year contract. Haven't won a cup since 67 and for the first time in a long time with a stacked team won 1 playoff series and then gave up. Please don't talk your like you are any better. The Leafs are and will always be the laughing stock of Canada unless you live there.

I mean it is

Has our star goalie said he wants out. Or did a guy we traded Laine for (who didnt want to leave) say I dont want to extend 2 years later. Or did we just buyout any of our top end talent. Heck did one of our players decide **** it I dont want to play leaving 7.6m behind. Nope

In the end what's WPG done, not a whole lot im afraid and all that above not a great look and it potentially is only gonna get worse.

We got cups sure 1967 but hey we got em. WPG is just burning money for the NHL rn and seems to not be a place players want to stay at this rate relocation might be a real possibility. While Toronto is one of the original 6 teams an original franchise who with 5 others helped make the NHL.

None of the stuff that happened in WPG has happened here plus climate's better keep trying cause in the end when u think of Canadian hockey teams MTL, TOR, EDM, and VAN come more into the spotlight even stats back that up

You are right, smallest market in Canada, horrible climate, tough to get premiere players to sign or stay. We have an excuse, your team and city just suck year after year after year. Please provide the proof that Buff left because he was in Winnipeg. Guys still has a cabin here, he must really hate this place. We went to the Conference final in 2018 with this bad team. Toronto, was it 93? You have a lot of cups for sure, must have been tough to win with 6 teams. I don't know if that is what i would be proud of.

Can tell your arguments are just out of anger and not logic now so yea im not gonna continue this silliness

But will leave it with this

WPGs moves last 3 years not great and the turnover on that team and guys wanting out not ideal. Trading for PLD was a mistake day 1 as Laine had no desire to go but was bullied out. Wheeler and soon maybe Scheiefele and Connor Hellebuyck being out also not a great look. How long before Connor and Ehlers look and go yea can I go to. Then the whole Byfugelin situation was the other warning. Why leave the money on the table and not play. Why go through that headache. Why not help the Jets in that time of need especially considering how bad that Dcore was. Clearly was not happy in the end and if he was sore tell them hey I cant play due to this so they can shove him on LTIR. Loved the city sure but guess something on that team threw him off. Add to the recent ticket sales and other factors who knows how long they will be a team. Suggest fans enjoy them while they can as if this keeps up Canada will be with 1 less team
