Canucks would probably take that if they had a way to improve the team with the money saved.

Hardly cap compliant is it....especially when bonues are considered. Sens need cap for next season when Sanderson needs a new contract.

Pinto probably gets close to double that.

A few things for next season (2024-25) :

    - NHL salary cap will rise significantly

    - Ottawa has dead money expiring ($1,562,500 from Murray retention, $1,833,333 from Bobby Ryan buyout and $750,000 from Del Zotto buyout. Plus an additional $625,000 from Colin White buyout, which accrues Sens cap space for that season)

    - Sens should be freed from Dorion's mismanagement by then

    - Kubalik 2.5 AAV also expires, could be replaced by a cheaper forward. Kelly deal expires

Pinto will get more than that and I think a Murray buyout is the third most likely thing to happen with him

Man if Murray goes to LTIR what will Sens do as no cap space granted.

And before people say he cant it just takes a Doctors report to say hes not 100% meaning no buyout and so can be shifted to LTIR

Friedman made note of that during his talks 3 days ago

Ah man, Friedman said it? It must be so then. Friedman is never wrong.

It's a bad look on the Leafs, since they cleared him to play in the playoffs. Keefe even made a point of saying he is available, just didn't want to play him, I guess to prove a point to Murray.

So which is it? Were the Leafs doctors lying then, just to embarrass Murray, or are they lying now, cause they decided to sign a bunch of players that they didn't have the space for?

"Murray will accept it because he wants his money"? He still gets money in a buyout, just not all of it. With Talbot getting 1M, Murray can easily recoup some of that lost money as a backup somewhere on a desperate team, and maybe salvage the rest of his career, playing somewhere media/fans don't care.

In the end Murray's health comes first if he isn't 100% can't buy out meaning LTIR

And based on reports seen along with not being in a rush to move LTIR retirement like Smith looks likely
