Seriosly, these trades are way off and value wise all over the place. How do Niederreiter and Schmidt(!!) each get the same or more of a return than Scheifele and Ehlers?

And I do think Hellebuyck should be considered a rental
bc it’s very unlikely the Sabres would want to give Hellebuyck the long term extension he’s looking for

Buffalo says no and certainly the Panthers don't have the cap for Shefeille.
If Buffalo was so concerned about their goalies, they would have signed a good one as a UFA, not give up a first to obtain a rental.

The jury is still out whether this was the right course of action. There's a fair amount of evidence to suggest that going to get a vet to share the crease with levi would be a good idea.

Yeah, I thought so too. And there were lots of short term good UFA goalies available this year....perfect for the Sabres/players situation. We'll see if Levi is even ready for NHL this season.
