NSH declines. Not really that I'm adamantly opposed, it's more that after the signing of Gurianov, there isn't any room for him.

Better change your title to 3 Possible. Hawks easily decline. They don't have room for and won't be paying anything for Pearson. And Rathbone won't be of interest either with all the young LD the Hawks already have.

Wrong, they'll take the veteran presence if he's healthy, he'll stand up for Bedard in a heartbeat. Hawks aren't deep at LD either. They have Korchinski, but nobody else, including Nollan Allan, looks all that impressive

They are giving up for a 4th for over a mil less in cap space…

Both are expiring contracts, actual cash owed is more important than cap space in this case

Wrong on both counts. Hawks have Perry and Foligno to stand up for Bedard if needed - both of whom I'd take over Pearson for that role. Those two plus Hall give the Hawks more than enough veteran presence too. As for LD, Hawks have Vlasic, Phillips, Kaiser and Roos in the system already. All of who play over Rathbone. Just admit you don't know squat about the Hawks and move on.

Vlasic, Phillips, Kaiser, and Roos are not guaranteed to play over Rathbone. Quit trying to grasp at straws

No, there actually isn't. There is room for finishing, but not wingers. NSH's wing situation is approaching logjam status rather quickly. LW is worse and that doesn't help with Beau being a lefty. LW for NSH looks like Forsberg, Nyquist, Sherwood, and Trenin and this before accounting for the fact that one of Parssinen or Novak will have to slip to wing, and they both would play LW. Prospect wise they L'Heureux, Afanasyev, Lind, and Schaefer in the AHL or juniors. RW is a bit better, but they are also younger and more likely to permanent fixtures. Tomasino, Evangalista, Gurianov, and Smith with Kemell, Wood, McCarron, and Kisskinen in AHL or Europe. There really isn't room right now.

If NSH hadn't signed Gurianov, then I wouldn't be opposed to this trade, as I actually do like Beau, but there just isn't room.

They absolutely would. Rathbone is a nobody.

Who is to say those Blackhawks prospects aren't nobodies as well? How are you going to debunk your alleged bias now?

Novak and Parssinen shouldn't be playing wing, that would be Brunette's fault if they are. Also, can't just assume Gurianov is going to earn his spot out of training camp

If one of Novak or Parssinen doesn't move over, then we have to many centers. Likely what centers look like is ROR, Glass, Parssinen/Novak, Sissons. Glass isn't moving over as he came into his own last year at center and I'm personally not playing Parssinen or Novak at center over ROR. I'm also not playing either of these guys on the 4th line, just for them to play center. Parssinen spent time on wing last year and frankly Novak's game might be better at wing as he isn't very strong defensively so he might be better suited at wing alongside a 2-way center like Parssinen or Glass.

Regarding if Gurianov doesn't make his spot out of camp, that would be the only consideration or if Sherwood doesn't make his spot. However, by the same token we can't assume either scenario of whether they would make it out of camp or not is going to happen, and it would be unwise for NSH to move assets essentially on a hunch.

I guess. Sherwood should be spending the majority of the season in the AHL. I've never really liked Sisson's on the wing all that much either
