How are you signing Matthews to 8yrs? Without a sign and trade (which Toronto won't do) or Boston acquiring him by the TDL (agains Toronto won't do) then you can only sign him for 7yrs max.

I don't think he's interested in an 7-year (or 8-year) deal at this time unless someone is willing to give him max value, although even then who knows.
