Would actually be curious to see if Canes would part with Drury given the contracts they have coming up at the end of the year.

EK price is right.

I think ANA would actually take Rutta, but not sure about DeSmith.

Think on Petry you retain $1.5M and there is a decent chance Chicago takes that. I don't think any team will take Petry's full cap hit, but IMO Petry at $4.75M is a solid cap hit.

You are correct about Anaheim, we have a spot for Rutta

I would rather hang onto Drury for the moment. Wouldn't send him inside the division.

I like Rutta a lot honestly, I think he's a very good depth player. Might be a little over paid but honestly think it's fine.

In a perfect world i'd love to have him at 3RD behind Letang and Karlsson, but not sure he can stay if there is a Karlsson Deal.

Always find it interesting that various people on ACGM act like he's a bad player lol.

Make one of the two picks in the Hawks deal a 2025 pick and the Hawks probably consider it.

I don't think he's bad, but he's a luxury to have on the 3rd pair and with how weak out bottom 6 looks would rather have that cap space.

Genuine question, do you think the canes sign him next year? I know a lot of unknowns right now, but as it stands (and i understand Pesce and maybe Teravainen get moved) the canes need to sign Teravainen, Necas, Drury, Jarvis Skjei, Pesce next year. As it stands now Drury is probably cheap given his NHL production, but if he goes and has a strong year this year his value shoots up.

I don't think he's bad either, but in the last year of the depressed cap, he's a very expensive luxury for the third pairing when the pens roster needs some fairly serious attention elsewhere.

The reason I'm not willing to give up much for him, if I am Anaheims GM, is that Pitt would have no leverage to ask for much, because they would need his cap space to enable things to happen elsewhere on the roster. It's just a matter of opportunity cost to keep or move him from Pitts perspective.
