I don't see the point in the B's making this trade. Swayman's arb contract is gonna wind up around the same cost as the Vanecek contract, with Swayman being a better goalie. Brennan is a nothing and the second is an ok pick. Holtz might tip the scales for the B's, but his stock has dropped the last year.

Swayman is a fringed starter playing behind one of the best defenses in history. I don't trust a Boston goalie whatsoever right now. This is like adding a Carolina or Minnesota or Vegas goalie, but doing so on steroids.

Their goaltenders might both be 890 guys heavily protected. Gibson on the other hand, is a 905 guy behind the league's worst defense... I trust him far more than a Bruins guy. And don't give me that stupid saves expected crap, only millennials buy into those statistics...

Why was Holtz even included in this? Again it would only be something like Vanacek and a 2nd and that should get the deal done

😂 Stoopid millennials sheesh!
As a Boston fan I am in favor of selling high on a smallish goalie set to make more money and tie up 7-8 million cap space in net. He wasn’t even allowed to play against Florida. They scrapped the two goalie rotation.
(In hindsight, maybe Monty should’ve listened to his millennials or were the millennials telling him not to play Swayman? I want answers and millennials fired either way!)

If you want a BOS goalie, holtz is likely the ask and then you can go from there, BOS would really have no use for V.V. As they would rather play Bussi on the cheap. If he has to move then the 2nd makes it worth wild for BOS to take him and you can leave Brennan out of it completely.

Take out Holtz…and replace with another prospect (Clarke, Stillman, Filmon, Foote etc) or switch pick to 1st.

Vanecek, Brennan, Clarke, 2nd
Vanacek, Daws, Filmon, 2nd
Vanacek, Brennan, 1st

But not with Holtz
