Pass on the 1st (2), but I'd do that 3rd trade.

yeah I think the 3rd probably makes the most sense for the hawks but I've always liked brannstrom, wouldnt hate taking a flyer on him.

Ottawa isn’t moving Brannstrom for that.

Nah

Maybe

Can't see the Hawks giving up any assets to acquire Brannstrom or Kubalik. And don't think the Sens would want to take back any salary in a Joseph dump.

Agree on Branstrom and Kubalik...really no purpose or reason for a rebuilding Hawks.

Reese Johnson is not really taking on cap as he can be waived and sent to the A with no impact (or kept as a cheap 13th forward).

Out of the box question for you. What would it take to pry that DET 1st off your hands. Let's pretend for a moment that OTT is sending Mathieu and the DET 1st. What would the Hawks need to send back? Would the CHI 2nd & VAN 2nd work? Another player? w/ Retention?

***EDIT*** Nevermind. I saw the conditions on the pick and forgot that DET has the option to send either the BOS/DET 1st. My strategy is blown right there.

Dominik Kubalik is trying to cash in at the prime years of his life. I don’t think Chicago entertains that negotiation.
