To put it simply, he was chasing the bag more than being serious about winning.

I think what happened is he fired his agent, went back to all 32 teams and the Sens and Sharks were the only team willing to give him decent money. Kinda wonder why he didn’t just sign with the Sens the first go around?

Wasn’t sure if your post was serious and you really didn’t know or if you were trolling?

Not sure why this matters anymore, but that initial report was apparently very erroneous. Shocker. From Waddell's comments the other day, seems they moved on after that. Now the hockey media has 'corrected' their earlier reports about the Canes offer. Evidently we offered 1 year at less than $4M. No wonder he fired his agent. I think that's hysterical though. Waddell be like "here's 3.X for 1 year Tank'y. If that doesn't work, I'm sure a nice Canadian team will offer more". I joke but evidently they were only interested if he came at a bargain. Very telling.

Seemed like a troll but I was giving him the benefit of the doubt. There was a lot of confusion over what happened and then they shed some light on the situation this afternoon.

I get it. I saw all of the reports, too. Like I said. Very erroneous. Anyone who reported that he was signed or intending to sign was premature. Not like we haven't seen this kind of thing before. Old news as far as I'm concerned. We're already 1,000 bad Pesce-Nylander trades into the wind...

Oh yeah, of course. I’ll cancel the I thought the Senators were supposed to make the playoffs posts I had planned for the Spring.
