Addison is a 12 minute a game even strength player at this point on a team that is capped out....that does not suggest 4.29 being the needed number. I don't know that 2.14 (the cutoff for the compensation being a 3rd) would be enough to force the Wild to not match, but that is probably closer to his fair value than 4.29.

Calen Addison is literally an Ian Mitchell clone. Both right shot. Same height and weight. Both offensive D men who struggle in their own end. Hawks weren't going to qualify Mitchell for $874k. Why are they giving up a 2nd to pay Addison over $4m? This makes zero sense.
