I appreciate your hyperbole attempt but there is no need for Toronto to do that carolina trade. The moodiness of Toronto fans because carolina fans understand the importance of young cost controlled players is quite something.

I agree that Willy wouldn't be a target for Carolina. I don't mind that as the feedback since it's based in reality.

I'm more just clowning on someone putting in a decently value trade or even a trade (ie: Willy for Lindholm) and people being like "no way dude, not a fair deal at all" and the only reason is leafs

Fair value deals don’t actually mean it’s acceptable. Cost control, trade clauses, and future costs play into it as much as trade value.

But earlier today "real life" leaf fans like Friesen and Borjshlapsky made trades that non leaf fans think is fair. Why can't all leaf fans be like those guys and just accept that their team is crap and all their players worthless?

Rationalizations so you feel good about robbing the leafs blind.

Explain to me why the devils would do this trade. Especially for any value whatsoever. That would just help ya guys out. This would also make us over the cap by a decent amount. Zero reason NJ does this

I see we are still panic trading a LHD to the devils. Like first its trade every single goalie to the devils, then its brodie and Hanfin to the devils for no reason. Make no sense why the devils would do this since theres a thing called the cap space, leafs fans are goofy

Let's see......Brodie and Pesce are about a even swap due to play/contract and term. So the Leafs trade Nylander, two thirds Robertson for a foruth. and in effect Kesse its the cap saving. Pretty horrendous for the Leafs.

Barring the fact that neither of those trades would actually happen i have only 2 questions

1. Are the drugs good in La La Land
2. How does it feel to still not be any closer to a Cup than you were a year ago?

"why would a contending team want a top pair D who exceeds in tough matchups for a mid round pick?" is exactly the logic I'm talking about.

“ Man looked mid against flordia so he basically has no value now” - leafsfan1996. We will not take your mid defenseman who makes 5 mil when all of our d spots are filled and we’d also be over the cap. You can’t say he’s a top pairing d man and also say he has no value

That comment was obviously me poking fun at people who don't think T.J Brodie has value. Vasilevsky played poor against the leafs, should he be traded for a 4th? Devon toews had a poor last series as an islander and he was traded for 2 seconds and that looks like a steal for Colorado.

Not saying Brodie is Toews (age and contract play a part) but if they had to sell at the TDL there is no way he gets less than a 1st+. He is very good defensively.

This whole post was about a lot of people on here thinking every leaf player has 0 value in a trade ie: T.J Brodie isn't worth a 4th rounder
