He's just 21. To me, it's too early to bet on such young goalie. Gibson can be the answer for at least 2 or 3 years.

Bryson doesn't make the top 6, Verbeek would play LaCombe over him. Honestly wouldn't take Bryson in the trade.

I don't see Anaheim moving Gibson until next off-season at the absolute earliest. We need to seriously reinforce the defense this season to give him a fighting chance at showing people he is still an elite goalie so long as he's not asked to make 50+ saves a night.

No, it’s not hard to DISCUSS this with a Ducks fan- OR a Sabres fan- seems like it’s just “hard” for YOU TO ACCEPT that this trade isn’t happening *for multiple reasons btw

Have to agree with Giggy though. Ducks can’t add another undersized Dman so Bryson is a bad fit, and I don’t think Gibson can pull in a 1st right now. Do I think he’s worth it? Yes. But do his stats support it (especially considering his cap hit)? No, not at all. Ducks need to put an NHL defense in front of him so he can show what he’s capable of before he nets a decent return

I agree with you. No one is gonna give up a 1st for Gibson with his 4 straight years of down numbers. He might very well still be a good goalie, but (to your point) no one is gonna pay up like he is until he shows it again- especially not with his contract

And that’s just ONE facet of why this trade wouldn’t happen
