I think it’s much smarter to look at a center vs another wing. Do you need both Bunting and Marchment?

The center that is most desirable for the Canes (Lindholm) likely isn't available for trade until at least the deadline. The Flames were one of the more unlucky teams last year according to numerous metrics and I think that group wants to try again before deciding to sell off.

Also, Bunting and Marchment are quite different as players. Marchment is way larger at 6'4"/220 and more physical on a general basis.

I don't think Marchment is the guy we need anymore. I liked him and sorry we missed out on him last year, but that no longer fits this roster now.

I wouldn’t mind this move, assuming the Canes go after another Center along the lines of Backlund, Dvorak, JGP, or even Shmaltz (any of which would require half retention). Extra scoring, extra sandpaper, and a complete roster that is not fun to play against.

I get the appeal of Marchment, but Bunting is just simply better.

I don't mind Lindholm, I'd prefer Schmaltz. I think there are also better alternatives. Lindholm is mega overrated on here

Wait we are adding to get marchment? Cmon now. Marchment played at below market value this past season and Skjei was tied for 3rd for goals scored by a defender. Skjei scored more than Marchment
Dallas would be the one adding

Also, even if he is, he isn't available because Arizona explicitly has said that they wanted to improve this year.

What realistically-available options are better than Lindholm? I'm guessing not that many. Coyotes have clearly stated that Keller and Schmaltz are not available.

It's pretty slim, but Lindholm is a mediocre 2C analytically. Canes won't pay what the Flames want for him and they won't pay his extension.

These are two I wouldn't mind at the right price. Backlund is just a disgusting player
