Lmao their opening lineup is better than last year. Get to the playoffs and anything can happen (see panthers last year)

And yea any injury to a star player on any team would be a huge blow lol

They're still contenders. Maybe a little top-heavy lineup lacking depth of some other contenders. If the Rangers were in the Western conference they would be competing to win their division. And the number one seed in that conference. The East is just much deeper competitively overall.

The Rangers are definitely better then mid.. lol

One of the best defenses in the league, a top 3 goalie, solid forward group from line to four, the Rangers are much better then a mid team.

People just regurgitate nonsense, I swear. No, "anything" cannot happen and FLA doing well wasn't surprise to people who know what they're watching. NYR took half a step forward while all of their competition grew by miles. This is not a serious hockey team. They only care about regular season attendance.

This D core is Fox. lol NYR fans love to drink our own kool-aid, pretending that Miller (Myers lite) and Schneider (Ceci lite) are more than they are. Lindgren constantly overworking himself playing #2 position when he should be a 4. Trouba should be a 6, playing 2/3. They are not cohesive, don't compliment each other and aside from the Fox Lindgren pair, don't add positive value on their own. The only team in the metro with assuredly worse D is PHI. NJD and CBJ are arguable.

Dude Panthers literally went far because their goaltending got hot at the right time. That roster wasn’t all that impressive lol

Same thing as Montreal making cup finals during the Covid years lol

To be fair to the Panthers they did battle injuries for a lot of the season but if Lyon doesn't get hot at the end of the year they don't even make the playoffs, if Bob doesn't get on a roll when he does they're a first round exit.

They definitely don't have an impressive lineup in Florida, overrated if anything.

This why this post is dumb lol. Boston had the most stacked roster in the playoffs and got knocked out round 1.

Yea Carolina and the devils and other teams got better, but anything can happen in the playoffs

When you're paying a really one-dimensional, mediocre player over $11M a year in a salary cap league, it's going to be difficult to ice a legitimately competitive roster.

I'm not a Rangers fan.

Calling Trouba a #6 is a laughably bad take, you seem to just hate the team you cheer for or something.

Columbus's defense got a big overhaul this offseason and who knows if Jiricek makes the team but yeah they have a worse D then the Rangers do, the Devils have a pretty good D so Idk what you're going on about there, the Flyers have the worst D in the Metro and the Caps is the second worst without question imo.

On the contrary, seeing a situation clearly and accepting it for what it is allows one to invest their emotional energy more wisely. I would go as far as to say that NYR fans can probably sit out this next season without missing much. There are unlimited interests competing for your attention.

imagine being emotionally invested in something you have zero control over, 3 months before a puck has even been dropped.

As a Rangers fan, this pessimistic doomerism is nothing new. Rangers had a top 3 record in the league since January of last year till the playoffs. They still have the talent to compete for a cup, it's just about putting it all together and maybe Lavi can do that, maybe he can't. No point in dooming until you see the actual product on the ice. People are very quick to forget that the Rangers were dominating the Devils through the first 3 games of the series, they lost because Gallant was dumb and didn't try to adjust the play to the Devils after they adjusted.

Every year is different, sometimes the smallest changes can make the biggest difference like what we saw with the Bruins in the regular season.
