Are you really a Flames fan? 🤔

You're the same guy who posted that one sided Flames/Red Wings trade yesterday, right? 😁

1- you’re asking for too much

2- we certainly aren’t even giving you HALF of that for 2 rentals

3- we have to pay Power & Dahlin big $$$ next year, so we definitely wouldn’t sign Hanifin as well- maybe Lindholm, but it would depend what he’s looking for

4- this big of a trade just won’t happen, not with us anyways

Along with the 3 valid reasons listed above, the Sabres' core is being built around Thompson and Cozens as their top 2 centers - adding Lindholm would force either down the lineup or to play out of position on the wing.

the ask is certainly not much -
Jokiharju and Olofsson aren't needed in Buffalo anymore and don't have a ton of value
Krebs and the 2nd are decent pieces
Rosen has some nice potential

why assume Thompson and Cozens would be forced out, maybe Lindholm moves to the wing?
if Buffalo is smart, they don't give Power "big" money next year - bridge.

trade like this puts Buffalo top 3 in Atlantic, not fighting for wild card (contingent on unproven goaltending - which they should still make a play for).

Money. You would have to pay much to Lindholm and Hanflin, and both would low on position ratings for Sabres. So basically you trade all that for rentals or you are overpaying players low on depth charts.

The ask is absolutely absurd for 2 rental players

I wouldn't mind lindholm, in fact he would look pretty nice here, and if we were a cup favorite this year, it would be tough to say no. As it stands though, it's too much to pay for one year, and theres probably half a dozen teams that should be much more interested in lindholm as a 1b.

Hanifin would be the Sabres 3rd pairing LHD behind Power and Dahlin, with a near $5,000,000 AVV it would be a foolish use of assets.

Lindholm is the latest shiny new object that catches the eys of Buffalo ACGM's
gms...goals...pts...+/-
277...48........139...-55
293...48........144...-62
Which is Lindholm's first four seasons, which one is Casey Mittelstadt's NHL stats?
Remember Casey was being called a bust up until the last two months of last season.
Lindholm has had two remarkable seasons in his career scoring 69 goals and 160 pts in 163 games.
Excluding his first year and breakout years Elias has been good but not Kulich, Olofsson and a first good scoring between 39 to 64 pts. each season.

The top stats are Casey, let's give him two good line mates and see what happens.

i'm not asking for anything here.
i don't have a dog in this fight, not a fan of either team.

if you think Buffalo is giving up too much here, you are overvaluing players.
