You are going to have to give up more then just dropping one round in order to get Boqvist for Broberg, sorry.

Blues can’t afford Foegle. We’re at cap pretty much.

I don’t see why that would be given they have too many RHD and Broberg could play for them right away and is an RFA who should still cost less than Boqvist.

Why does having too many of the second most valuable asset in hockey after 1C mean the team has to give them away? They don't become less valuable.

Every single trade is a loss for Edmonton. This only moves the team further from a Cup, not closer. Edmonton declines everything.

That’s why I traded our best defenceman on an ELC.

You’d seriously want Ceci over Boqvist?

Yes, Boqvist isn't great defensively, he's a 3rd pairing defenseman at this point in his career. And at 5'11, 179, he'll likely never be above average defensively. His offensive ability would be a bit wasted playing behind Bouchard.

Ceci plays among the hardest minutes of any defenseman in the league and keeps his head above water. He's no Chris Pronger, but he's 100% better suited to his role than Boqvist is.

He's positionally very good defensively, and good with his stick. You can be good defensively without being physical, which is what he's done. He's just known for being an offensive D-man, which he's better at.

I don't know that he's a fit in Edmonton, but he's definitely not a 3rd-pair defenseman. Health is an issue, but he's looked good when in the lineup (and on a bad team), and he's getting better (at only 23).

Columbus has Mateychuk and Svozil on the cusp of the NHL, so I'm not sure Broberg moves the needle much. If the trade went through, though, I wouldn't be mad.

this is true but we would 100% accept the trade, if we had room, absolute no brainer

I thought your cap space was better. I’m going to trade him elsewhere.

I know many of them out here and they’re usually pretty unhappy although better as of late! I remember when the Leafs won their last cup!

you could take scandella as an *almost* dollar for dollar, or you can take kapannen, both would allow you to keep the draft pick

The cap space is the issue, not the pick.

So do I. I actually remember the four Cups of the 60s. It's tough win a Cup now with 32 teams in the league,. The Leafs have proved over the past 55 years what poor ownership and/or team management can do.
