Buffalo is trying to trade Olofsson and Jokiharju and it would make sense to add Ukko Pekka to seal the deal so Winnipeg gets a goalie in return. Also trading Brenden Dillon so Dylan Sambergto grow into a better player.

Yes interested in possibly adding Dillon to the squad — would make a nice partner for Drysdale

Not so interested at the price — we would be looking more at that 5th and 6th and not the 3rd

Thanks for the comment. I still have 3rd 4th and 4th but I retained 1,250,000. Does that work for you?

Buffalo is NOT ‘“trying to trade Olofsson and Jokiharju” though

And a trade for Hellebuyck is very unlikely,
since we don’t wanna give him the long extension he wants

We aren’t gonna trade those assets for a “rental” goalie
Just doesn’t make sense for us

Welcome to CapFriendly!

As my esteemed friend @GeneralLandro says, we might be interested in Dillon, but not for three draft picks. I can see paying a fourth and a fifth for him, though.

Retention doesn't mean much to a team far under the cap limit this season.

Good luck with that offer he's worth a 2nd especially with retention

Dude sick — We don’t need or want retention so you can shove that

We were just talking about what we want to spend on a rental not giving an offer

The topper in this whole scenario is adding Jonsson-Fjallby like he adds any value. The guy Buffalo plucked off waivers a year ago, never played because he wasn’t good enough, and then returned to the waiver wire to be taken by someone else. Why not sign Dmitry Kulikov so you can offer him to us again?

Myers, maybe Lyubushkin. Every other Toronto post is trying to move Brodie for a 4th or 5th If we want to give up a 3rd it should be someone that isn’t a rental like Peeke or Jokiharju.

Point is, there are plenty of options, and with Anaheim not competing this year, they’ve got the trade leverage because they have no problem walking away without the trade

Well I probably wouldn't do this deal just because he's a rental. Sabres have been trying to trade Olofsson since last TDL and they need to trade Dman. Just don't think Joker will be the one.

If you look most big named player aren't getting the returns that the fans want. But if they are lucky it's what they need and both teams win. So that being said for Hellebuyck they are either going to have to sign with a team that he will sign with (that limits return) or trade him as a rental (that limits return)

Buffalo may not be TRYING to trade these players, but they should take a deal like this. Even if Helly is a rental.

We have ten D who played in the NHL last year, and Jokiharju is six or seven on that list. He may have upside, but there's a crowd there already.

Olofsson is worth 25G, but we have four rookie forwards who ought to get some NHL games this year (Savoie, Kulich, Rousek and Rosen). The best slot to offer them is currently occupied by VO.

UPL holds promise but is inconsistent. Hellebuyck would give us fifty reliable games. Lets Levi get his feet under him during his first year.

The draft choices are expendable. I think this value is reasonable, but don't think Jets would bite.

Take out Joker and the 4th and you probably have a deal. No, I don't expect the WPG fans to like it.

Nice response- u make some good points for sure
But at the end of the day,
I just don’t see Adams giving up assets- even “b level” assets- for someone who is strictly a rental for us

I think Levi is slowly eased into the starters role this year- provided he plays well, of course
And if he struggles, that’s when i think we’d look at the goalie market again & see what’s out there

I do like Hellebuyck though
And if we could get him to sign a 3year extension, I’d trade for him in a heartbeat. But he wants 7/8years at $8.5mil + per
So that just makes trading for him (roughly) impossible,
at least at the moment

Sabres have been trying to trade Olofsson since last TDL

I get that this is the general thought of many fans,
but this hasn’t actually been reported anywhere & is all based completely on assumptions
