Who's the source of the rumor of William Nylander going to the Islanders? I haven't seen any indication of Nylander to the NYI financially he's the very last player they can afford/ They're already going ro have cap issues down the road.

Eklund did mention isle working with toronto to get Nylander and that JGP was involved.

Liljegren and Romanov are similar valued so this is Nylander for a 3C upgrade and Wahlstrom (who i dont value very highly). Id call this a pass for toronto

yeah, it's awful value for the Leafs. Pageau is a 30 year old 5 million dollar 40 point player, Romanov is a bottom pairing defender and Wahlstrom is a bottom 6 winger on his best day. Just comically bad for the leafs

In fairness, JGP with 2 million retained (down to 3 million here) is pretty good value. Still he isnt going to be the centerpiece of a Nylander acquisition (or atleast if Toronto's GM is sane) and i dont hold Wahlstrom in high regard so i think the value is tilted in islanders favor

Who is the 3C upgrade? You can't possibly mean the overpriced pylon in Pageau

I personally like Pageau and here he is retained down to 3 million which is a fair price point and pushing Kampf to 4C would give them better depth at center. I mean i didnt say it was a good deal....

He's not really much of an improvement over Kampf. Better offensively but worse defensively and he's more expensive and older

Why would the leafs give away the nylander and liljgren for a a negative value player in pageu, and Romanov is a third pair guy, worse than lilly, and whalstrom isn’t worth anything either

Pageau is at best an overpriced Jarnkrok. 40 Points from a 5 m player no wonder they want rid of him , no ty from Leafs.
