I would expect many of those players never reach UFA and will be signed to extensions. UFA classes always look great this far out and then you end up with extentions or guys getting moved to teams that can sign the player to an extension. If somehow all these guys (and others currently not signed) got to free agency, I would be passing on Stamkos, Kane, and Klingberg and targetting Scheifele and Reinhart instead of paying Kane and Stamkos mostly for past performances. That said, Hawks should not be deep diving in to free agency next Summer. They really should still be trying to grow internally another season (to figure out what they need that won;t be home grown) with MAYBE a selective UFA add that is part of the future and not just a one and done.

If those bonuses happen, the Hawks would be over the cap. Some of the UFAs aren't good value in $$$ and term. But I do agree with you Hawks are in a good position to sign some UFAs.....but just be selective.

I think Matthews ends up somewhere like 4 x $15 because he's smart enough to realize he will make more in the long run by taking another crack at UFA when he's barely 30.

Cash in a 4x15 till hes 29 sign an 8x15 cause the cap has gone up so much by then
