The rental +1 value of Buchnevich lowers his trade value some compared to a player with more term. I can imagine the Canes sweetening my initial package with more draft picks and prospects, but I'm thinking that the Canes would rather keep Morrow and especially Nikishin. If absolutely necessary, though, I could see the Canes offering Morrow.
That's not the part I was referring to, dude. I was referring to "A team that is going to be mired in mediocrity".
And again, Buch is not available, so all of this talk about offers is meaningless. But let's be very clear about a couple very important things: 1) You guys are pretending as if the Canes would be the only team after Buch if he was actually available, which is so far from reality they need to invent a new distance word just to describe the scope of that misfire, which 2) means you'd pay what the Blues are asking or miss out. It's that simple.
You guys are on about "value" without factoring in what the Blues would require, so again... meaningless. Adding more and more meh is not going to "add up in value" like we're counting nickels and dimes of cash. The actual value is what it would take to get the Blues to give him up. And even Morrow, who like I said gets overrated a lot and does not fit a Blues need moving forward, would not be good enough to kick off a quantity package.
Trade value is not a one size fits all mathematical formula unless
maybe we're talking about 3rd pairing Dmen and straight up retention-for-one-pick dumps.
