I think Trotz would be dumb to turn that down.

For an expiring UFA goalie? NASH takes that and runs, just dont know why BUF would offer, as changing number 1 netminders at TDL means BUF is probably out of the playoffs as well.

He has one more season under contract after this trade.

EDIT: No he doesn’t. I misread his contract.

2024 TDL which means they would have Saros for 2 postseason (if they makes it)
I would imagine BUF are in the playoffs run at the 2024 TDL and they want to strengthen their goalie

Yeah I phrased that incorrectly, but sarros is a number 1, I can;t remember any number 1 goalie acquired at the TDL, unless there was an injury.

I think its a hefty offer from BUF, but stand by the fact that if BUF needs a number 1 at TDL, then theyre probably not in

As nice as this would be, Adams would much rather deploy a rookie goalie with 7 games NHL experience to be the saving grace of that team and have a 24 year old with an .898 to bail him out rather than upgrading between the pipes.

I'd send them Saros for this all day long

Only a few other notes, Im not too sure on Carrier and Hartman UFA signings, not sure if there wont be better UFA options than those 2, especially as Hartman is such an up and down guy - for 4.5mil, I think you can do better.

As for Krebs, if hes still your 4C and your 1st-3rd line centers are all here long term, I;d deal him sooner while he has upside value, looking at 2 more seasons of being a 4C probably doesn;t leave any mystery to whether he has bigger upside.

just my opinion

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Krebs playing 3rd line C for much of the season. Mitts played on Cozen’s wing for a chunk of last season, and when Thompson got hurt he thrived between Skinner and Thompson. I could see Granato trying to run a balanced top 6 of Skinner-Mitts-Tuch, Cozens-Thompson-Peterka, or keeping Skinner-Thompson-Tuch together and putting Mitts with Cozens and Peterka. Either way, there’s a high chance that mitts is somewhere in the top 6 which frees up the 3C spot for Krebs.

Yes, I made it for next off season, but the trade is made at the trade deadline of this year9in description of trade). Sabres are in playoffs and want a more veteran goalie and get Saros for two post seasons.
