It's not that UPL has no value, it's that the leafs have two guys they like ahead of him. There is no incentive form them to do this. They just signed Holmberg so I'd imagine they would want to keep him

So Woll who has played 11 career games makes this an easy pass, but UPL who won 17 games last season alone is an AHL goalie?

Yep. Woll had a SV% above .930 would have made him the top goalie in the league if he played enough.

He was 6-1 on the season.

Not to mention we have at least 2 AHL goalies I'd take over UPL who hasn't been able to hack it in the NHL putting up a sv% that had him in the bottom 1% of goalies last year.

Not saying Woll is a future hall of famer and UPL is a bust.

Just that UPL isn't waiver exempt and no leafs fan wants Woll traded, he'd never pass through waivers so why would we give up a player who can likely be a good 3rd line center for 5-7 years for a goalie we will waive in 30 days.

Woll played 4 playoff games and went .915 save %. He was really good for someone that has only has 7 NHL games on his resume

And do you guys want UPL? Is he your starter? Was he overly effective last year? Considering Woll's numbers both in the regular season and playoffs, he's looking like a pretty good guy to keep. Not saying UPL is trash but what's the incentive here? Holmberg is a young centre who could be an important depth piece for TO and they don't need a goalie.

Woll was actually good in the AHL regular season and in his 7 NHL games. UPL hasn’t been good since his OHL 18-19 season.

I am chuckling at the idea of calling the player with more WINS in ONE season than the other has PLAYED in their CAREER the minor league goalie.

I am merely chuckling at calling the guy who went 17-11-4 an AHL goalie and not the guy who has played 11 games in the 7 years since he was drafted

Well, to be fair, UPL stinks. He's gonna be fighting for the 1B spot with Comrie and that's saying something. Woll has shown enough poise to play well in the playoffs when Sammy sucked. He's shown to have a lot more upside while UPL is.... well.. yeah

I guess Sidney Crosby is an ahl player then since he didn't play in the playoffs last year but Joseph woll did

I love to talk about the upside of a player who has played 11 games in 7 seasons since being drafted

And in that 11 game stint already looks better than the goalie who posted an .892 last season, and has a whopping career .898.

Not even counting UPL's GSAA last season, which was -5 lol

Value isn’t bad but the Leafs don’t need another goalie, they already have 3. They’ll get more use out of Holmberg than UPL

Well the numbers behind those numbers tell something no? 3.58 GAA and .892 sv% don't inspire confidence. Woll certainly looked good

The guy is right NHL experience is all that matters.

Leafs accept and let's even make it better for you. We'll give you Jones for Levi and Timmins for Savoie and Benson ( that's really a steal neither have even 1 NHL game). Try not to get too excited about getting something for players with 0 NHl experience who are therefore clearly worthless.
