No potential bottom 5 team is going to give up two of their 1st for Nylander.

The 2 teams I chose are CHI and NSH because they could take a shot this year if they decide to now. They got cap room , some very good pieces and a lot of picks and prospects.

Hawks are not trading anything for Nylander. They are not in contention this year. Definitely not trading 2 lottery picks for a rental UFA. Get your head out of the Leafs Media bubble and get with the real world.

I forgot to add that Nylander gets re-signed to new team at 9 or 9.5 m per 5 to 6 years . Should not need to add this it should already be a given , no one woud trade that much for rental.

I understand your thought process behind it but a noncontending team is not giving up future assets for Nylander. Nylander is going to go to a team that will need him for a playoff push, maybe someone like Seattle if they could clear the cap space for him or maybe even the Ducks since they are closer to coming out a rebuild than CHI is.

At this point no matter what team you choose their fans complain. Just trying to see if there is a possible trade that does not involve key players in return. Also chose those 2 teams because they have multiple 1st picks and after trading 2 still have a couple left.

Lol you realize Chicago "took a shot" 2 years ago and gave Columbus the 6th OA pick.

Edmonton still drafted 4th OA the year they drafted McDavid and they had a much better team than the Hawks do right now.

Nylander with an extension in place would get two first round picks back in a trade. But not from the Hawks. If the Hawks go "big game hunting" next couple of years, it will be in free agency. Where all they spend is money. They won't be trading away high picks for players until they flush out their '22 and '23 draft classes to see what they actually need.

Doesn't matter. Hawks are not contending this year or next year likely. Let's see how the prospects start panning out and making moves towards playoff push in 2025 maybe. But not trading 2 lottery picks for an overpaid winger.

The whole point and only real trade is the Nylander one , the rest was just quick filler . Was thinking maybe CHI if offered this was to decide to take it and make some more trades and build a team to compete right away. If TML were to get those picks they could just add a couple UFA and keep all the picks because we need prospects. Or trade a bunch and shop for players with picks.

The hawks will just wait until free agency, sign him to the same contract, and not give up two picks that will probably be top 10 or better
