Honestly I'd keep Brannstrom. Trade him next off-season when Klevem can take his spot. Overpay for Raddysh, but CHI doesn't want Kubalik so hard to say. Maybe a team in need of cheap depth scoring, like NYI (zero though just a guess) would take for a 2nd to give grieg room?

Hawks decline. They let Kubalik walk as a RFA so that's how little he's valued to them. So Thomson plus a 4th doesn't get you a 20 goal scorer making less than league minimum.

Even if you somehow think that Raddysh is better than Kubalik, Thomson + 4th should make up for that difference easily. Chicago is rebuilding and getting an OFD RHD plus a pick while not losing any offense would be interesting for them

That being said, I'll give you that Chicago is probably not the right team for that because of Kubalik history with them. I'd look at many other teams to trade Kubalik first

Who knows for sure why they valued Kubalik the way they did. It could have been the amount of his QO, good attitude during his struggles. He may have just not fit the direction the team was heading. They also walked away from Strome. Davidson could see Raddysh as part of the core moving forward. Who knows.

Yeah Kubalik and Strome was weird... They could have traded them for sure... I mean they always had value

But anyway, falling on Bedard fixes pretty much everything so the Hawks got lucky I guess. Hopefully, past is in the past.
