Sam Bennett might actually be a psychopath. And I mean that litterally.

Guys like Gudas and Thatchuk play super hard and aggressive. But Bennett was running around clearly intentionally trying to injure people all playoffs.

I like guys who compete and are super hard on the other team. Bennett crossed many lines this past playoffs. I would be very cautious adding him to Carolina.

I think Bennett is going to have a VERY tough year this year. Guys were too afraid during the playoffs to retaliate, because they didn't want to take a penalty. I assume players will not hold back on Bennett this year during the regular season.

That Knies play was extremely dirty. I would have disliked that play massively, even if it happened to a guy on Carolina. Or if a Leaf did that to a Florida player. That was a malicious play. Full stop.

But that wasn't an isolated incident either. He was running around all playoffs clearly trying to hurt people.

I think the Canuck would make that trade. I like Hoglander but we have lots of depth on the wings and not a lot at center or right defense.

Honestly I don't see the huge issue. Sure it was a dirty play, but the canes have got pushed and shoved around in almost every playoff series they've been in since 2019. That's been one of their big issues past the 2nd round especially. Idk if this is a popular opinion or not, but I think we need that player who's just an a-hole. It feels like at least one filthy play like that happens to the Canes in every playoff series and absolutely nothing is done by the refs or the players on the Canes.

Adding toughness, even an asshole or 2 is fine. Adding a genuine psychopath is a bad idea. And I believe Bennett is a psychopath.

Skill set wise, I do agree Bennett would be a perfect add to Carolina. I can't argue that.
