Can’t see the Hawks wanting to move Dach and/or Del Mastro before they have even played one game professionally. Both have developed quite well, played for Canada’s world junior team and are viewed favourably by the organization.

Furthermore, as has been stated close to 4.5 million times on this site, the Hawks don’t need another goalie, especially a low level backup with legal baggage.

Hawks decline instantly. They aren't giving up two highly regarded prospects for that package of spare parts. Only player Hawks might have an interest in is Harris, but not if he costs Dach OR DelMastro. DeSmith and Ylonen are of zero interest

The Athletic has Dach and Del Mastro ranked 8 and 12 respectively in the pipeline, so although they are good prospects, they are not the team’s top prospects.
Harris is an upgrade over any LD in the club right now and could play with Jones on the top pair given the Hawks’ lack of depth at the position.
I agree Ylonen isn’t worth as much as any of those prospects, but in the trade, Harris is the better player, while Dach and Del Mastro would be #2 and 3. Ylonen and Desmith 4 and 5.
Having Korchinski and Harris as their top 2 LD would be a great foundation for the future.

I'm just not sure Harris is the type of D man the Hawks want to build around. He's not particularly gifted as an offensive player, and he's on the smaller side (under 6') and isn't particularly physical. I said the Hawks might have interest in him. Just not at the cost of Dach and/or DelMastro. Dach is probably a bottom 6 guy as an NHL'er, but he could be really good in that role. After the season DelMastro had last year, he's looking like a steal as a 4th rounder. If his development continues at the same trajectory, he's a legit top 4 NHL D man for sure. No disrespect to the Athletic, but their ratings don't necessarily reflect how the Hawks front office views a particular prospect. The Hawks are very high on DelMastro. As stated by Snowhawk above, the Hawks aren't trading away 20 y.o. prospects they are high on who still haven't played their first games as pro's for older guys - especially two guys in Ylonen and DeSmith who have no future with the Hawks. No chance the Hawks make this deal.

But do you think starting Bedard’s first year with either Tinordi, Philipps or Kaiser as #1 LHD is a good thing? The hawks tried to surround him with quality veterans in Hall, Foligno, Perry, but that D isn’t looking good… I still think Harris would be worth it for them as he’s got a lot of experience for a young player

With or without Harris, the left side of the Hawks D is going to an adventure every night. That's been the plan the entire off season. Otherwise, why let Caleb Jones walk instead of qualifying him for $1.3m? The Hawks have six LD under contract playing pro this year, plus Korchinski and Harding in the wings who probably turn pro next season. Hawks need to start seeing what they have in all these young LD.

Alex Vlasic most likely plays on top pair w/ Seth. Vlasic would be on top pair even if Hawks did acquire Harris. Harris has like 50 games more NHL experience than Vlasic. Then two of Kaiser, Phillips and Roos make the team. One of then on 2nd pair. One on 3rd pair or as 7th D if Tinordi is on 3rd pair.

I honestly don't see the Hawks making a trade to acquire a young, under 6 foot LD. If the price was right, then maybe. But giving up DelMastro or Dach is most likely more than Kyle from Chicago will pay. I wouldn't trade either of those guys for Harris.
