This is a fun post.

I cannot see either team accepting and I would not want to make the Peace trade without an extension in place (unless the goal is to flip him at the TDL)?

Good trades. I personnally wouldn’t trade that much for Pesce and to dump Armia, but the value is fair

I think if we did do this trade, we could probably land Pesce for a 4 year 6.5 million 6.5-million-dollar deal. It would finish with him being 32-33, then he gives to keys to Reinbacher as #1 D, and Reinbacher gets less pressure to be the guy too fast. It's a lot to give, but it could be worth it. CAR does get a good forward piece that would take off pressure for KK, so it could be a good move for them, they get a couple of futures

I like the idea of trading futures for Great vets and cap relief. I think the Habs are 1 year away from that. If this season Suzuki finishes at 80+ pts and Dach at 60+ pts as a 1C/2C I think we can start pushing more aggressively.

Canes will pass on that. The only pieces the Canes would find interesting are Farrell and the 1st, yet Farrell is quite unproven at the professional level, so it’s not going to be enough.

If Pesce was going to take the 4x6.5, he would have been resigned a long time ago.

I agree more or less, but Monahan is not a piece to sniff at, and I do believe he could be interesting for the Canes

The style of hockey that Monahan plays wouldn’t fit in the system that Brindy employs, especially for a center. I mean, I would imagine the Canes would have some interest in Dvorak half retained, and would probably be willing to give up their 2024 2nd and Suzuki to make it happen, but Monahan wouldn’t be of interest.

Whats Canes still, outta curiosity? Would it be better if we added Dvorak and like another prospect like Kidney. IDK if MTL can afford another multi year retention, but if y’all have a bad contract, it can be taken

This does nothing for the Canes. Monahan's made of glass. Farrell and the 1st are interesting, but the fact the 1st is SO far away means it holds less value. Nothing else there is really interesting. For reference, for Buffalo to land Pesce (with his desired 8 year 7 million extension) I've done Joki, 1st, Rosen. For Toronto, I've done Lilly, 1st, Niemala/Hirvonen. Carolina would need a top 4 young RD back to make a move with Pesce

Dude, if Pesce would take that, you think the Canes would be entertaining moving him? Let's not forget here, Pesce will re-sign in Carolina. It's the Canes that don't want to sign him to an anchor.

I would definitely take this deal. Matheson is a great fit in that top 4, Barron is fantastic bottom pairing

Nurse - Bouch
Matheson - Ekholm
Kulak - Barron

the only issue is breaking up Ekholm-Bouch

This allows edmonton to create a package of Ceci-Mesar- 1st round pick (either '24 (edmonton) or the pick received in the trade). This package can definitely get a top 6 forward worthy of replicating nuge's average production 60-65 ppg.

I take this deal personally even if it would be a bit heartless towards nuge.
