He probably pulls a Spezza and retires if claimed. Personally would give Robertson the opportunity to showcase his skills

Benning might be the top RD they have. The point I'm trying to make is that the package there probably wouldn't be enough. You'd have to overpay above his value which doesn't make sense for you guys.

Honestly, I think Minnesota moves Addison to solve their cap woes before they move Foligno. He's got an "A" and isn't overly expensive, plus he's a fan-favorite. With Faber and Spurgeon on the right, Addison might be 3RD anyway.

Moving Foligno to clear cap made sense back in July when you could still get a free agent on a 1 year bargain contract, but since everyone is basically signed that could help the Wild more than Foligno could (if healthy), just keep him at this point. They could certainly make a trade, but why? They have $14m in dead cap, so there's no reason to use any meaningful assets to try to improve the team when you're handcuffed to start with. At least next year they have some roster flexibility with a lot of cap coming off the books and the cap expected to rise more than $1m.

Addison will get signed eventually or they'll replace him with someone until he does sign. There's no offer sheet coming, he was benched for a lot of last season including the playoffs so what are his options at this point? Given he's a PP QB that needs sheltered minutes, he'll likely play on the 3rd pair with Goligoski or Merrill while Faber plays 2nd pair with Brodin.

Could reasonably ship him at trade deadline to give a prospect some time up with NHL. Sharks have a weird logjam on D and need to shed a few contracts. Benning may be only one with trade value

Wouldn’t want to risk getting Robertson hurt again… So I think they should wait 20-30 games and see how he does post surgery

Obviously the Wild aren't going to trade Foligno for a 5th just to open up cap space.

Logjam at LD, not RD.

I'm all for shipping out contracts. I don't know what Grier is doing bringing in these slugs and subsidizing the league.
