I think they are looking for a more short term G solution. Vladar with a 1.7M cap hit next year limits them from signing Toews

They can always pull up Annunen from the AHL to backup Georgie short-term; no need to spend assets on someone with term

I think this is what they should do. The Avs tend to have a short leash for prospects but a longer leash for vets. I'd love for Annunen to get his shot at backup. But it sounds like they still don't trust him enough, and they're looking for alternatives.
