I would so much rather have Edmonton do the Brodie trade rather than the Klingberg trade. Brodie is 10x the player Klingberg is lmao

As has been mentioned many times, the Hawks have enough depth forwards currently in camp, they aren’t going to pay for more. If you want Chicago to take them off your hands then pay up.

I've always hated that argument, "oh yeah the trade I made doesn't work but I feel like your GM would do it so it makes sense", that's like if I made a mock that was Kane for Nylander 1 for 1 and said "Oh yeah the trade isn't fair b u t Brad sure loves his grinders so he makes this deal anyway"

That package doesn't get Zegras. Not even close. And Hawks decline that trade as well. They don't need two more forwards for this season. Definitely not two that they give up picks for.

Foegele is the better player than Bear so what even is that argument. Foegele is the perfect 3rd liner for Edmonton while Carolina traded him for a 5th? Edmonton easily won that deal.

Also don't act like Marino was some stud when he was traded, he was some 6th rounder that requested a traded, he broke out which is great but that's not on Kenny.

AA yeah sure but what does trading two 2nds for a young 30 goal scorer have in common with trading a 2nd for an overrated offensive d-man. Every GM has made a bad moves but that doesn't define them

None of those are remotely close. Athanasiou was a young RFA goal scorer, Marino was a pending UFA who was refusing to sign, Bear was traded for Foegele who earned a new contract and has been money so far (and Bear hasn't) - far from a cap dump.

Pretty funny that after 25+ years of GMing these are the trades he comes up with as negatives.

tears of joy

No one outside of Edmonton thinks EDM won that trade, every one knew AA wasn't going to repeat the 30 goal season, even if Marnio wasn't that good yet the talent was always there.

- Edmonton absolutely won the Bear-Foegele trade, clear as day.
- Athanasiou was a young RFA with speed and some scoring ability. If anyone thought he could score 30 again he would have cost a LOT more than two 2nds.
- Marino was a pending UFA who refused to sign in Edmonton. What part of that do you not understand?
